Heh I was bored decided to post one of these :)

And no, not your real name, but the name you use on scriptlance. I know some of you use your companies name, but say for the individual programmers/webmasters.

Me personally, my name is jacob and my friends one day called me "JBizness" because they believe I will one day own my own business seeing as I have been on the right track since I was about 13(I'm 18 now).

When I was signing up for an AIM screenname TheBizness was taken so I chose "tehbizness" and it kind of carried over to here.

Anyone have any stories, like a nickname, or was it just something you picked?

Have you read Robert Asprin?
The main hero is Skeeve, which in my language is written like Skiv.
Thats my story, not a long one :)

Your correct, I think many account IDs are named after businesses, like ours, tdadigital. The first three letters are the initials of the founder Thomas (Tom) David and then the first letter of his last name, followed by the word “digital”. Where “digital” implies the technology of our products and services.

The only problem arises is when we give Tom a hard time about naming the company after him; because we are a four partner co-owned company and the rest of us have to find some way to keep Tom from getting on his High-Horse sometimes. But, it’s all in good fun and sprit.

Innovative thread you have started – our complements

Take Care,
EJ

I sign as "bes island" almost everywhere. It is a bit fancy game of words - compare to "be silent". Also, "bes" means "dark angel" in Ukrainian. No other explanations. I had to choose nickname several years ago and I hadn't much time to think about it...

In Orson Scott Card's book "Speaker for the Dead" ("Ender's Game" sequel), there are four orders of foreignness taken from the Nordic language described:

The first is otherlander, or utlänning, the stranger that we recognize as being human of our world, but of another city or country. The second is framling ... This is the stranger we recognize as human, but of another world. The third is ramen, the stranger we recognize as human, but of another species. The fourth is the true alien, the varelse, which includes all animals, for with them no conversation is possible. They live, but we cannot guess what purposes or causes make them act. They might be intelligent, they might be self-aware, but we cannot know it.

BTW I strongly recommend all Orson Scott Card's books :)

toth - ancient egyptian (and roman) god of wisdom and intelligence.
seth - egyptian god of death and sleep - as a god of sleep he had powers over the dreams.
So since I'm intelligent guy who makes his dreams come true I took such name :D
