View Full Version : Communicating with reviewers
Hi
Sometimes, promising looking projects get posted by webmasters who have a mix of negative and positive reviews. From what I've seen, the webmaster gives the programmer a poor review and the programmer retaliates in kind or vice versa.
Is it possible to contact the programmer to find out more about the reason for giving the negative feedback? Is it acceptable to do so at SL?

I'll be VERY interested if will be the opportunity to contact with freelancer to discuss details about previous project even through SL (private messages).
In fact there is limit (500 symbols) of feedback and it's impossible to write all proofs about project.
So it will be nice if the limit was 3000 or 5000 symbols.
And it will be nice if will be the possibility to leave the answer on the feedback.
RAC has this opportunity "Rebut".
Elance also let to answer on feedback "Respond to feedback".
"Is it possible to contact the programmer to find out more about the reason for giving the negative feedback? Is it acceptable to do so at SL?"
Possible/not possible? Acceptable/not acceptable?
Or does this have to be addressed solely to Helpdesk?
Sanjay? Justin? Anyone????
of course it's possible to contact the person to discuss their feedback before starting the project. you can do that through the private message board.

While it is possible to contact webmasters about their feedback, I dont beleive it is possible to get in touch with the person who left it.
One thing that you could do is leave your email address in the feedback you leave, however I can see this not catching on.

Thank you for the responses .... encouraging for newbies like me.
Peter - where would I leave the feedback and the email address? I would be looking for clarification from a programmer as to their experience with the webmaster.
As far as I know, leaving contact information is not permitted. (?). So, how does one contact another programmer on SL, if they are not a registered member of the Forum?
While it is possible to leave a message on the private message board for the webmaster, haven't discovered a method yet to contact a programmer. But I guess that brings it's own set of problems for SL ........

Anjac, asked about situation when one freelancer want to ask ANOTHER freelancer about client in the private message board.
Try to post the private message to another freelancer and you will see that it's impossible right now and you will see warning message something like "You are not webmaster of this project so you can't post messages to another freelancer ... ".
Of course freelancer can post not private message in message board of the project, but there is no chance that another freelancer, who left negative feedback, even know that this project exists and will see this message.
