eBay buys Skype

Online auctioneer eBay is buying VoIP provider Skype for $2.6bn.

A statement on eBay.com confirmed the takeover. EBay will pay $2.6bn in a mixture of cash and shares. Bonus payments of a further $1.5bn will be made if Skype hits certain targets.

Yes, its pretty incredible the price they paid (2.6 b), considering skype's yearly profits are around 60 m.
