really, now ok, surely what i did wasnt offencive, right?
Heres the story....
I spotted a project i could do, heres the post.
------------------------------------------------
I have tried this and tried this but do not seem to be able to get someone who can do this as I wish. So, here I am again posting this project. Here is what I am looking for....
I have an online game that is based on the script found at www.middlewars.com and I need to add some features to it. I want these features added in, and the game to work without bugs or issues. I will list in PMB the features I want to the ones who can show me work that they have done in PHP that is similiar to this. My budget is $400 for tihs, so, if you want more...dont bid. In order to do this you will need to register at the game site and play to grasp the game concept.
-----------------------------------------------
So i bid $400, with 20 days, thinking there shouldnt be anything he wants me to do that could possibly not be covered in this timescale/budget. And heres the PMB discussion.

Bad part is that you have no clue as to what I am looking for, what mods, or even what the script is like. So, it seems that you just post your bid. Sorry, but that is not what I am looking for. You have no idea what you are getting into, yet you bid my max. Had it been $800 you would have bid that just to get the max. Not a business deal I look forward to making.

Why bother posting a budget then? You obviously feel that the modifications for your site require a budget of $400, and i am willing to do the work for that amount.
Also my quote is not final until i accept the project, after hearing the brief of the project the bid may change, i do not accept projects until i know what i need to do. You seem to think that bidding is a final contract, its not, i do have the ability to re-bid.
If you would like to list your requirements we can discuss the project.
Thanks

Why the budget...to explain my limits. Simple and fact. However, it is max budget, so, why bid if you do not know the details. I could select you, and then give you details. I could then redo the whole project and make it more than what I want. So, why bid on something you have no idea what it is? Not a good business move....sorry but not my idea of good business investment.

Again, you seem to think my bid is a final bid, it is not final until i accept the job.
You say "I could select you, and then give you details", i would not accept a project until i have the details of the job and both parties have agreed to the brief, you seem to think i dont know what im doing, you are very much mistaken. Ignore my bid, the point of the bid is to say im willing to do the job. Again i say, i can quite easily re-bid a different timescale and budget when i know more.
I understand now why you have has such problems with programmers in the past if you are so critising about them. I know i can do the work for you, i know i can re-bid should i wish to, the question is do you want someone to help you with your game or are you going to attack every programmer that puts in a bid for your project.
Let me know.

Well, if you can not take the critization (as you put it) then the job is definatly not for you. If you even had an ounce of understanding what I am saying then you would not say I am being a critic.
Dont bother taking up the PMB with your excuses.....

Oh, and yet I have 35 reviews being a critic...no. It is called being careful on whom I select. Trust me when I say I run a business full time, work 70+ hours a week, and know who to look for when selecting someone for a job. Anyone who bids (final or not) on a job before they know the details is not someone to choose.
1) they are too ansy to get the bid in
2) want to look good
3) no idea what the job details of
So, no, I do not critic...I just know what to look for. Take your 2 review and get over it. If critics are your enemies then you will never make it in a world where that is all that goes on.

now, that bid made me lose this project, otherwise i probably would have got it, but i am now so glad that i didnt.
His ounce of sense may make him $156k a year (which i doubt anyway) but it cant stop him being an asshole.
Anyway, if anyone else thinks i was being unreasonable then let me know.
Thanks
