I am a programmer.I want to get some feedback about my script,if it doesn't voliate forum rules.
I have coded a links directory script-YABLinks (http://www.yabsoft.info/demo/yablinksdemo/),just like indexu (http://nicecoder.com),k-links (http://turn-k.net),Gossamer Links (http://www.gossamer-threads.com/scripts/links-sql/).I think my script is powerfull and fast, because when i developed it,i am always getting some good idea from indexu,k-links,Gossamer Links, and add in my script.
But i have selled it at my site since 3/1/05,i have only sold out one!I am wondering why my script,a powerfull one,at least i think, can't get webmaster's attention. On contrast,i coded a imageshost script,i don't spend lots of time to improve it,but get many webmaster.I don't know why.

Thanks for your suggestion,i will be very appreciated with your help!

The template you have now it looks kind of superficial to me. I would try to make a very nice/fast template. Get a good designer... Go more on quality not on price...

I hope this can help you sell more...

Good luck

I agree, I think the presentation needs to be cleaned up and refined.

From a webmasters perspective, I run 3 different link directories, being able to incorporate the script into my designs is important. So I must be able to see how versatile it is to manage and edit the layout.

The back-end might be fantastic but most search by visual cues. They want to SEE the program.

Could you explain me more about back-end?Do you mean infomation at back-end is too mess for users?

What I meant was that the program might be really well written but it is impossible for a casual user to see the back-end. Most people choose based on visible functions.

Scripts, softwares and ebooks are best sold using a direct response site (long sale letter, with the emphasis on the benefits, not the features), like this one (AssocTRAC, Corey Rudl) :

I disagree. I see a LONG sales letter and I run... I want features.

I think i may emphasis features of my script, how advanced my tech is.Lots of man focus more on benifits that script can generate if he use it.So i think "the emphasis on the benefits, not the features" jayapura said is a good idea.

hate to be rude, but your features list, etc, is very bad grammar. Now it's different when you're posting in a forum, but when you are trying to sell something grammar can be a key issue. I mean I can barely understand what your saying. Next off most average joe webmasters don't really understand technology jumbo, but they do understand key things, such as a features list that talks about how easy it is to use. Reading over your feature list you talk about algorithms, and more....so the average joe might be turned away. Just trying to help out, hopefuly this helps.

I think you should compare your script with WSNLinks: www.wsnlinks.com I have no intention to be rude, just a frank suggestion and opinion. I found WSNLinks have more features and very much cheaper. And never neglect these: the design must be really attractive - professional, clean style and not childish! Buyer will look by the cover AND the content (back-end). The same happen to WSNLinks, though the back-end is fantastic, but the design is very bad!

So you need to do this 3 things:

(a) More features (and more flexibility)
(b) Good design
(c) Low price

It's my sincere opinion. It's up to you to decide which are best for your script.

Thank for your suggestions.Wsn Links is a very good script.I will study it later.

I am ready to release a new version which come with more feature.I will release a free edtion. And the price maybe more flexibility.

Thanks.

I disagree. I see a LONG sales letter and I run... I want features.

YOU, but what about the other people ??? :D

Obviously you're not a saleperson, because everyone involved in selling do know people buy benefits not features or products.

A direct website has proved many times to be the best selling method, whether you agree or not. ;)
