such a thing as free SMS script

Is there a script that one can install on a server to be able to send free sms notification to subscribers when they receive an email. So every time there is an email it send a sms to a designated cell no. I am aware that there is a way of doing this by gsm modems, but i am looking at cheaper option for my community members.

I have done a lot of research on this and there is no hack / script that can send free sms. Excepting Yahoo messenger. However, for some countries/networks you can try icq sms services that (sometimes) work well with just an email containing your sms.
