Feel like a bit of a copycat posting another "Whos from" thread but im sure youre just as interested as i am :p , Thought it might be good to get a list of local contacts.

Is there anyone here from the United KIngdom? im sure there must be a few?

Im from the UK, personally i would rather user a UK based freelance website, im even thinking of trying to set one up, need to get a decent domain first and a freelance script like scriptlance's one but in php, i dont have the time to make my own. Anyway the only UK one that i can see is freelance.net, but thats basically just a news script for posting and a email script for applying, i want a whole site for UK freelancers. $ vs £ is terrible so i get very little for projects. To be paid in £ would be brilliant.

Any other UK freelancers agree? or know of a UK freelance site?

If not, anyone wanna help me get a UK site off the ground? need suggestions for a free domain name and a PHP script suggestion, one as good as scriptlance.

Ive already registered the domain tonight actually. and bought and installed a cheap freelance script until i have the time to write my own. i'll let ya'll know the url once its setup if anyones interested.

Zillions of SL 'programmers' can do the work for you, at a very reasonable price. I already saw a lot of similar projects, both PERL & PHP.

If you're really serious about this project, investing a few 100 of $ is a must do.

I already own the permission to a full version copy of the scriptlance script. with full update rights to boot, I have been wanting to set up a site like this for a while. However i do not have time to do my main job, work on scirptlance and also run a site in teh background..

If you are really serious about this. and are interested in some sort of partnership. then we could possibly discuss terms, and chat a little..

I am a programmer, so the design and interface is no problem either..

well, i love the scriptlance site, and the script itself and i would gladly use it, however, i require it be written in php, so i can modify it when i need to, so thats why i never bought the scriptlance script.

The thing is, i am a control freak, and like to control everything, the only really thing i need is for this site that i dont have, is investment, which will be spent on marketing. Once i have the money (or an investor) i will be purchasing advertising space specifically targetted to UK freelancers, which is the exact market i want to tap into. Also i'll have my marketing contact to SEO the site and start on a general ad campaign. So, if anyones interested, and wants to invest in the site, send me a PM and we can discuss your expected ROI amount and timescale.
