Have you ever tried to click TAB key in Photoshop ?
Do It Now ! it hides all the toolboxes and gives a wide area for editing .

Are these "Pro Tips"? I thought I've seen them in the PS manuals :)

Pro Tips?
So maybe something about "Maximize PSD and PSB File Compatibility"? Do you have it turned on or disabled? What are the (dis)advantages of it?
This is not described in every manual, so may be considered as Pro Tip ;)

CTRL+SHIFT+N adds a new layer. Helpful if your layer window is not visible in your work area. :)

OK, I'd also advise adding some useful shortcuts.
Mine are for example add/subtract to/from selection - I've defined them as "Ctrl"+"Shift"+"+" and "Ctrl"+"Shift"+"-". I use these very often and they are very useful.
Also Brightness/Contast - "Ctrl'+"Shift"+"/". These are mine shortcuts, of course can be defined as other key combinations.

Have you ever thought to automate some repeating tasks here is the way
For Example I am going to automate the process of opening new file with fixed hieght and width .
Look at layers panel and select Actions Tab
Click " create new action " Icon at bottom
In pop up box name this action and select a shortcut and finally click record button
now go to file>new
select size and properties
press OK
A new file will get opened now again go to layers panel Action tab and click "stop recording "
Test your shortcut with keys you have assigned

All you people may know it already but i got to mention it .
To organize big projects ( with a lot of layers ) photoshop provides facility to create sets of multiple layers ( look at bottom of layer box , the folder icon )
Tips with Sets :
Select a Set , press V to select move tool , now use arrow keys to move all layers in a set at once .
# Select a set , press ctrl+E to merge all layers in a set
