pray god that they dont change anything in dreamweaver and flash... you know buy acquiring.. macromedia.. they will have a type of monoply.. no rival company will be there...
Yes, I know - that's the main threat...
I hope it wasn't only the purchase to eliminate the competitor.
We'll see the next steps anyway.
I hope they get rid of goLive and just keep dreamweaver (although I think everything will pretty much stay the same for both sectors Adobe and Macromedia).
Who uses goLive anyways? ;)
Adobe Macromedia Creative Suite studio MX 3 2006 Professional?
:D :D :D

the move is important for adobe/macromedia to fight off stock software in Microsofts new OS Longhorn due out in 2006.
I hope they get rid of dreamweaver completely.
I think html generators should be made illegal anyway, they are irritating their code is never valid XHTML 1.0 so why even bother? I code soley in VIM (http://www.vim.org), it has everything I need.
There are plenty of people using DreamWeaver to maintain their sites. And they don't have to be programmers. I work for a few e-book writers and they love DreamWeaver for its simplicity and functionality.
The fact that programmers hand-code their sites doesn't mean that other ways should be given up.
Why should a lawyer/writer/musician learn hardcore programming? This would be nonsense... Let them handle their sites themselves. With DreamWeaver, why not? It's their choice.
I hope they get rid of dreamweaver completely.

Well the makers of Dreamweaver go to a great pain to make there output valid XHTML 1.0 They even had come in a web Standard team to do even better.
Next to that Dreamweaver is much more them a html generator its a great code edited and time saver also. mils of Hand coders use dreamweaver like me.
So Rapido stop making comments when you not got all the facts.
Sometimes peoples saying me that notepad is better thing than dreamweaver... They saying that real developer must use notepad. Laughs... I use PHP Mater Editor :)

Well i go to a business school.. and they taughts this : Any company normally tends to maximize their profits by always presenting the best in the market and products that always get better.. so when Adobe buys macromedia i don't think they have a reason to bury macromedia to the ground... what i think is most likely to happen is bringing out the best of both worlds.. like for instance if Adobe had a piece of software similar to Flash, i guess they would introduce new features to Flash that already existed in the Adobe software or vice versa, only in order to be the best. And since there is no much similarity in most of their products, i believe that every company will just keep getting better in its own products... And a live example for that is that one of world's top car manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz is owned by DaimlerChrysler, but Mercedes is still a stand-alone company producing cars under its own brandname and it's definitely not getting any worse ;)
So there's no reason to worry guys.. i don't think they have a reason to screw up some multi-billion dollar industry :p
Hopefully You're right... :)
Regarding the products:
Adobe has SVG and MM - Flash. Most of the pople expect that they'll give up their own (SVG) and develop Flash instead.
Situation with PDF is different. MM tried to develop Flash Paper, but this didn't work. PDF is well settled now, while Flash Paper - hardly anybody heard about it.
And Dreamweaver/GoLive. Probably most of WD use DreamWeaver (if any of these packages).
Finally - raster and vector graphic design. Adobe products (Photoshop and Illustrator) have dominated the market.
So the important decision will be which product should be developed and which - "buried"... If such a decision will take place at all.
The only thing to afraid would be Adobe's pride and favorizing their own products in the fields where MM had better ones (Flash, DreamWeaver). If they were "weakened" somehow - this would be a loss. Loss for customers.

As I was saying... I don't' think that's how it's going to be... they paid an enormous amount of money to buy this company... I don't think they will in any way bury any of the products. Everything will continue as if they were to different companies. Why bury something that returns income... even if it's in a small amount. another thing, As far as I know Macromedia and Adobe are 2 Different companies... they just have the same share holders that's all... so Adobe Can't bury Macromedia and vice versa... what I think they will do is that they support each other in their products.

You should better start using a WORLD CLASS editor instantly. This is how you should do -
Go to MS-DOS Prompt and Type: EDIT and you can see a beautiful editor opening up.
You are not a dream weaver ? Are you ?
