Well ... i don't think that :).
I can't really say I compete with anyone.
I just post the work and the price, take it or leave it. ScriptLance is not my main source of work, so I'm in no serious need of under bidding someone who if they can drop down lower than me, then they proberly need the work more than me.
Hy.. nice pot..
well.. when i started... it was some awaprogrammer..
latr Zynch was one with whom i used to find myself in compitetive edge..
now recently.. it was danysoft..
but soon.. there won`t be any..lol..
regards,
deep.

I use to feel I was in competition and would charge ridiculously low money for a lot of work. Then I just through in the towel and posted what I felt was a fair price. Ok, I lost some jobs but I won a few as well. The way I look at it now is that if a client wants the world as a solution but is only willing to pay $50 for it... then he's hardly very serious!

well this is a good point.. but usually programmers bids according to either the price of the first bidder.. or the budget of the webmaster.. Sometimes.. it's a lot more than the value of the work.. that's where i play.. but Exactly as you said.. if he wants the wolrd.. then.. Bye Bye..
well actually, we dont compete, we are just placing our quotes on projects. Win it or lose it, we won't mind, in this kind of game, sportsmanship is not really a necessity , since this is not a competition.

well i dont feel like im competing with anyone..
i like to look at other peoples scores. and i find that a lot of people have 9+ in rating but not 10/10.
i have 23 reviews as a programmer, and still maintain a 10/10 result..
it makes me wonder, just how good some of htese programmers are.. I am not the best out there but i do treat my clients with respect..
well just my thoughts
I wouldn't judge so easily only by rating ratio...
This is fine until you are rated by unjust webmaster or in revenge - both these happen too often...
If a programmer has more than 1-2 ratings with "1" this can be an indicator that's something wrong.
I wonder how would you feel if a webmaster rated you "8" or "9" and told that he believes that human cannot be perfect?... What could you help? And then someone comes and says that you are probably not a good programmer, because you have "9".
One webmaster (from another site) asked me how can I have the feedback of 70 "10" ratings. He works in "normal" business and even though he provides top quality service, it would be just impossible to have all his clients rate him with "10".
So you are wrong, my friend ;)
Each case should be considered separately, there's no geneal rule. I've seen a scammer with 50+ "10" ratings and good programmers "burnt" by fraud webmasters.
You can only hope that such a thing won't happen to you. But it can...

lool.. i TOTALY agree with Varelse.... cos it actually happend to me.. a webmaster wanted me to install apache / mysql / phpmyadmin for him on his computer.. and as the job wasn't that big.. i made the huge mistake not to ask for escrow... we where using some software similar to Go to My Pc.. when i finished the job in 30min's.. He didn't reply to me since i finished the job, he didn't complain about Anything... and gaved me a 1 .. 2 days later.. he sent to me a msg on msn telling me "The Best Stupid Award Between Scriptlance Programmers goes to senegalo"... What can you do with a someone like that ? anyway.. i forwarded the entire conv to scriptlance staff.. and they removed the feedback.. so.. i usually trust any programmer/webmaster with 9 stars or more.. and yes, some webmasters give 9's because the belive humans ain't perfect :D saw it a lot of time.. and i really will be pissed off if someone gives me a 9 cos human ain't perfect :D:D:D:D LOOOOL

dont get me wrong, i do see a lot of 9's :), i just assume that the webmaster didnt catch the drop down properly, i have almost done it a couple of times myself.. But im more surprised at the ones that have a score of 1, with things like.
took the project which was urgent 5 Dyas, and waiting 2 weeks for the completed system, but still nothing..
These are the ones i watch for.. :)
i know there can be some doubtful remarks.. i have been had once myself. luckily escrow saved me the pain of loosing a lot of money. but i know it happens.. But in a lot of cases, its easier to see where the problem lies..
Especially when you see a rating of 1 from a webmaster, then 5 scores later, there is a 10 from the same webmaster.. :)
Cheers
