"This is easy, would take a skilled programmer 10 mins max."
Or maybe "This is easy job, but i don't have time to do it by myself."
When you can do it or know what is wrong and how long it would take somebody to fix it, why you need anybody to do it instead of you?

see below :D
"The price you are asking is far too low for the work involved."
"But, it's easy you can have it done in 10 minutes."
"If it's so easy then why don't you do it?"
"Well, I'm not a progammer/expert."
"How do you know it's easy then?"
"Because it is."
Crap!!! If you don't have a budget to do the project, then don't think of doing it in the first place.
As someone said before, if you don't have a decent budget for the project you're after, don't start a project at all until you do have a decent amount of money.
IMO sometimes even if you can do it yourself and its easy you are too bored to do it.. I think thats a nice reason to hire a programmer to make it for you am i wrong?..

It most common situations you're right, but then do not expect the guy you will hire to be as good as you or to do it in the same way.... but nevermind, everybody can act as they want ;)

I find this most annoying. When a webmaster says..."I can't afford more than $5" I feel like deleting the damn project if i could :p:D
I hope many know what I don't like of SL Projects Posting....
"Don't bid if you have less than 10 feedbacks"
"10+ feedbacks required"
Anyway, many won't have bothered since you people here are mostly experienced at SL.
I sometimes get annoyed by projects where the description is full of negativity.
"don't waste my time"
"I won't escrow"
"I've been tricked before"
"don't bid if you can't finish it in 10 minutes"
Hey, how about:
this will be a present to my friend I have a tight budget, I want a myspace clone with some additions, will give you details later :: YEAH RIGHT MATE :: and I want it integrated with joomla, my budget is 25 dollars :confused:
SHOOT ME GUYS
Hehehe yeah, you guys are right ... I want a Yahoo! email clone, but my budget is $25. I don't care if Yahoo! employes many programmers!!! ;-)
Ahh! I hate the ""This is easy, would take a skilled programmer 10 mins max."".. they always use that as an excuse to lower prices >_<

the 'A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +' reviews.:mad: :mad:
You can ignore the top three options but after a good rapport and having done a great project, wen u get this....
You're right, Converge. But the only thing worse than that is having to ask for the review.
I vote for "other"
I mean hiding posts at the project message board from other registered programmers. Some newbie webmasters suppose that programmers can see all the posts, so in case when many programmers ask the same question about a project, a webmaster answers only once to the accidentally chosen programmer.

Yep I hate it when someone pose as experienced and also shows angry and post lots of conditions.
I had webmaster who posted "it is easy just two steps" then when I started working, he wanted more features that never said in his project.. but no worry I escaped safely. and done mostly the project itself. :)
extremely picky webmasters annoy me for some reason. =)
Eventhough webmasters dont know the programming and technical stuff, they know the exact problems and the time to fix it. How ridiculous is this?
The second worst thing is the project budget is maximum $5 and they give a 10 star review instead of the money. The minimum budjet for project should be $10 or atleast greater than $5. Recently one webmaster was asking me frequently whether I was sitting in front of the computer 24 hours even before he offered his project to me. :o

Yes,you are right.
TIP:Never work on '5 minute/5$ script-' projects...i've done it not long ago- first and LAST time.

I personally hate it when a programmer bids on a project stating that they understand the project, but once you accept them it's as if they never read the details you gave them or that they plainly don't understand. I just don't understand that logic. It's a time waster for both people.
I had that happen to me once, but it was my first time selecting a programmer and I stuck trying to explain the project for 1 month or so. I thought maybe I wasn't explaining it right, but the programmer was never specific on what he didn't understand. He couldn't even make me a clone of something similiar or even modify another script the way I wanted.
Now it may be happening again, because a programmer I currently chose seems like he never read the attachment that I had up. But I will see his response, and if I don't like the response I will choose someone else. I don't mind if a programmer asks for understanding on certain parts, because everyone always has questions, but if the programmer just doesn't understand the whole thing, then that's not right that he or she bidded on my project.

I so agree! I also have found what appears to be a cut and paste bid, portfolio, pmb mantra...!
And what about the ever popular bid that shoots your budget to  , yet NO explanation in the PMB of any kind....so how can we talk to the Programmers if they won't talk to US?
If only all the great webm's could find the great programmers....:D
I was working for webmaster "thelistguy"...........
First week was fine for him.... He also explained that... I like the working Progress...............
From next week He lost in ----- which also causes my account showing negative balace..............
The sweet rules of scriptlance.... warn me to pay amount........
HOW CAN I PAY...............
ALSO the webmaster ran away..............
At last I Cancel the Project and $200
which is my first project..............
Still I dont have any more money................
The next Webmaster dont want to test the software at all..........
AS WE KNOW.... to run the software on the Microsoft Platform... we need to install lot of things............like .NET version.................RUN time files.....
MDAC set up..............
and on generaley these are not available on the simple machine..........
So I requested to to darren3 to have installer for the application........
He said """"" there will be a single file through which we need to do all the things..........
We managed this thing also................
Now he is not ready to build the installer and not ready... to run the software.....at least for one....
At last the Luck is worse..............
there are many rules for us (programmer ) but not for webmaster........
This all happen. may be because of I have not taken any advance from them
Hey guys.....................
From last 1 year i was trying.............and i got 2 new projects.........
and this is senario now........

Another thing I dislike is when a programmer stops communicating. What usually happens to me is a programmer and I communicate well for 1 or 2 weeks. The programmer will tell me the steps they are taking to complete my project and maybe even show me a demo. But after week 2, I never hear from the programmer again. Some of the programmers visit scriptlane almost daily and of course I post a message on the pmb, but still they don't respond. Some of the programmers have good ratings, some of them none.
Also advice for anyone is if you are having problems with the programmer or webmaster remember to post about it on your project's pmb, so if you have to cancel you will have proof of a good reason why.
